New organizational structure for the Regional Directorate of Spatial Planning approved
The new organizational structure of the Regional Directorate of Spatial Planning (DROTe), a direct administration service of the Autonomous Region of Madeira integrated into the Regional Secretariat for Tourism, Environment and Culture, has been published. Regional Regulatory Decree no. 8/2026/M repeals the previous diploma (Regional Regulatory Decree no. 25/2024/M).
DROTe competencies:
- Execution of regional policy on spatial planning, urbanism and landscape.
- Management of geographic, cartographic and cadastral information.
- Acting as the Regional Land Registry Authority.
- Management of the Regional Cadastral Information System (SRIC).
- Use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) for territorial monitoring.
The hierarchical structure of DROTe will be defined under the terms of Regional Legislative Decree no. 17/2007/M, with Ordinance no. 717/2024 remaining in force on a transitional basis until the new internal organization is approved.
